Prices
Eero Heinonen’s class: 110 € including tuition, one night’s accommodation, breakfast and free entry to two Mänttä Music Festival concerts.
Other courses: tuition €250 (5 lessons of 45 minutes each), accommodation in an own room starting from €160 and free entry to all Mänttä Music Festival concerts.

Mänttä Music Festival organizes a violin course for violin students and young professionals for the third time on 27 June – 2 July 2013.

Teaching 250 € includes 5 lessons (à 45min), accommodation in an own room 160–354 €. The students have free entrance to all Mänttä Music Festival concerts.

Teachers

Eero Heinonen is a Finnish pianist and an associate professor of piano music at Sibelius Academy. As a chamber musician and a Lied pianist his partners have included e.g. Miriam Fried, Elisabet Bathiashvili, Liana Isakadze, Arto Noras, Martti Talvela, Tom Krause and Peter Schreier. Heinonen has recorded piano and chamber music for BIS, Finlandia and Ondine labels, and his recordings on Sibelius’ complete piano works has received widely international attention. He teaches regurlarly on master classes at international music festivals and in music colleges in Scandinavia.

Emanuel Krasovsky is a pianist born in Lithuania and a Doctor at the Juilliard School. He is a professor at Buchmann-Mehta Music Academy in Tel Aviv and the Artistic Director at the international master classes in Tel-Hai. Krasovsky has held numerous master classes in several respectable music schools such as the Juilliard School, the Queen Elisabeth Music School, Royal College of Music, Hochschule der Kunst, Wien Concervatory and Concervatory in Paris. He is also in demand as a juror in international piano competitions including e.g. Arthur Rubinstein, Leeds, Maj Lind, Rosalyn Tureck and José Iturbi Competitions, and several students of his have won prizes in reputable piano competitions.

Heini Kärkkäinen is pianist and a Sibelius Academy graduate, who teaches at Tampere University of Applied Sciences as a Senior Professor. She has performed widely accross Europe and the US. As an esteemed chamber musician she is a regular visitor at Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and she has performed with e.g. Ana Chumachenko, Robert Cohen, Bruno Giuranna and Jean-Jacques Kantorow. Kärkkäinen has premiered a lot of chamber music and orchestral works by e.g. Mikko Heiniö and Olli Koskelin. She has recorded for Warner and Ondine labels, and her record of Saint-Saëns with Tapiola Sinfonietta was chosen the Record of the Month at BBC Music Magazine and the Editor’s Choice in Gramophone.

Juhani Lagerspetz performs actively as a pianist and as a chamber musician. He has given concerts with several acclaimed conductors and chamber musicians such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Rudolf Barshai, Sixten Erhlig, Ida Haendel and Barry Tuckwell. He has premiered piano concertos of many Finnish conposers and recorded pianomusic for Virgin Classics, Melodija, Finlandia and Ondine. Lagerspetz holds a professorship in piano music in Sibelius Academy.

Jerome Rose is one of the most distinguished pianists in the US, and he has been heard in major concert halls across five continents. His catalogue of critically acclaimed recordings on Medici Classics includes Liszt, Beethoven and Chopin. Mr. Rose’s recordings of Franz Liszt for Vox were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque from the Liszt Society of Budapest. Rose has appeared with such orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic. He is on the Faculty of the Mannes College of Music and is Founder/Director of the International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York City. Mr. Rose has served on the Faculties at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, the Tel-Hai Festival in Israel, the Duszniki Chopin Festival and the Salzburg Mozarteum and he has given masterclasses e.g. at the Moscow Conservatory, the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, and the Munich Hochschule. He is also in demand as a juror at international piano competitions including the Liszt (Netherlands), Hamamatsu (Japan) and Chopin (Poland) Competitions. www.jeromerose.com

Vera Vaidman is a Russian bron violinist and Tchaikovsky Concervatory graduate. She is an active soloist and chamber musician, who has appeared with orchestras accross four continents with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, André Kostelanetz and Rudolf Barshai. Vaidman has worked as an Artistic Director on several music festivals and chambers orchestras. She has taught on numerous masterclasses in the US, Europe and Asia.
