Serlachius

The Mänttä Music Festival is held at Serlachius, an artistic site in the cultural landscape of Mänttä. The concert venue is the Kivijärvi Hall at Serlachius Manor.

Since 1945, the Serlachius Museums have been housed in Joenniemi Manor, built by Gösta Serlachius as a stately home. The collection of the Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation is exhibited in the Serlachius Manor. It includes exceptional works from the Golden Age of Finnish art by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Albert Edelfelt, Hugo Simberg, and Helene Schjerfbeck, among others. A wooden extension to the building was completed in 2014, expanding the museum's activities to include contemporary art.

Restaurant Gösta, located in the heart of the museum, offers good, unpretentious food, whether for lunch, dinner or a coffee break. Restaurateur and award-winning chef Henry Tikkanen focuses on local, high-quality, and seasonal ingredients. Book in advance to reserve a table at Ravintola Gösta or in the restaurant.

The Serlachius Art Sauna was completed in the summer of 2022 in the museum's garden on the shores of Lake Melasjärvi. It was designed by the internationally renowned trio of architects Héctor Mendoza, Mara Partida, and Boris Bezan. The building was selected as one of the three finalists for the Finlandia 2022 Architecture Award. The Serlachius Art Sauna is rented out for various events. The sauna is open to the public during public opening hours. During the Mänttä Music Festival, the sauna is open to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday 30 and 31 July from 11 am to 6 pm.
